Tutor Meeting - All Tutors and Staff
Wednesday 11th January 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
The aim of this session is to provide information about developments within the service and an opportunity to catch-up. All tutors and staff will be brought up to date with developments within Bathgate Partnership Centre and the plans for the service throughout 2012.
Stage 1 Training – record keeping, evaluation and forward planning - New Volunteers But Open to All
Thursday 2nd February 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
The continuation of Stage 1 Training for our new volunteers. Any existing volunteers wishing to brush up on breaking down a goal and preparing an ILP are invited to attend. Please contact A Nicol in advance.The aims of these sessions are to consider in more detail, record keeping and reflection. We will also be looking at breaking down a goal and how to make the ILP as effective as possible. New volunteers will then feel more skilled and confident about helping our students reach their goals and will be empowered to take more responsibility within their own group setting.

SQA Assessors Training - Giving Feedback - Tutors Currently Working Towards Award
Thursday 9th February 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
This meeting aims to allow us to discuss another stage of the assessment process. Tutors will consider the process of giving feedback to students and how to improve this. Thereafter the process of giving feedback to students will be improved and will provide participants with the chance to evidence this progression within their assessor's award portfolio.
Word Computer Training - All Staff

To support the move to the Meridio system, many PCs and laptops will be updated from Word 03 to Word 07. This session, repeated from last term, will offer information on what changes have been made and how to work within the new system. All staff will then be aware of the differences in the new system and how to save new data to make the eventual transition to Meridio easier.
Spreadsheet Training - All Staff

The aim of this session is to enable better and more informed use of spreadsheets. By the end of the session, participants will be aware of how to use spreadsheets and the situations in which it might be useful. Participants will have had a chance to put it into practise and thereafter should make the collation of data and figures much easier.
Record Keeping And Forward Planning - ESOL Tutors
Thursday 8th March 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
This session aims to consider the record keeping and forward planning process when tutoring groups. By the end of the session, participants will have negotiated a system and appropriate forms so that a uniform process of recording and planning is then in place.
Deaf Awareness Training - All Tutors and Staff
Friday 23rd March 10.00 am - 12.00 pm
This session aims to let us explore the issues being faced by people who are deaf or have a hearing loss. This will allow participants to better understand the needs of those who are affected and allow us to make changes to our practise to afford better inclusion.
