Friends of Adult Basic Education

Friends of Adult Basic Education or FABE is a voluntary organisation that represents the students and supports the work done by ABE. It has its own committee and organises some ABE groups and events.

The FABE committee meets at the Adult Learning Centre. The next meeting dates are:

The Back Chat Book Club meets once a month. They read and review books and organise events that all students can come along to. They also arrange visits to the theatre and to book readings. The Book Club members have even written and filmed their own script about ABE called Strictly Come Spelling. All students are welcome to join.

The Book Club also has its own book review blog at abebookclub.blogspot.com. Learners receive Blogging training to get started and have occasional meetings or drop-ins to get support.
